Recent internal data lists about $6 billion in land for sale in the Palmetto State. The overall size of land for sale in the state is almost 310,000 acres. Of the 46 counties in South Carolina, Aiken County had the most land for sale. There were 443 acres of sold land in South Carolina recorded last month through the Lands of America sales program. This reflects a drop in sales activity over data from the month before. The total value of this sold land and rural real estate was $2 million. The most land sales in the state last month were located in Laurens County. The South Carolina landscape offers a diversity of terrain, from the mountains in its northwest corner to the beaches and waterways of the eastern coast. The state boasts 47 state parks covering 80,000 acres, where popular outdoor recreational activities include hiking, kayaking, fishing, and camping. In terms of its size, South Carolina is the country's 40th-largest state, covering an area of 32,007 square miles (20 million acres). Of this area, 30,061 square miles is made up of land, while the remaining 1,960 square miles is made up of water. Wildlife species to be found on land for sale in South Carolina include whitetail deer, turkey, ducks, dove, and geese. Anglers can enjoy casting for bass and catfish.
